Yesterday’s Shabbat was such a blessing. The last Shabbat of the month is very exciting for our family as we look forward with eager anticipation to sighting in the new moon to begin our month. I always secretly wonder if the month will be 29 or 30 days. “What will Yah do this month?” It is such a blessing and fills me with so much shalom to wait on the Father and witness the work of his hands declare His time. However, we did not sight the moon and we had much cloud covering which led to a beautiful sunset! Fortunately, two of the sisters of our Moon Watch group did have clear skies in Texas and were able to verify that the moon was not seen and this month is a 30 day month. I love 30 day months! A two day Rosh Chodesh always makes me think of David who gave up his two days of New Moon feasting with King Saul to hide in the field to show to Jonathan the true nature of his father’s heart. I give thanks that we have shalom within our gates and all our family walks in the Torah. How scary it must have been to be in an open field under the blackness of a moonless sky. But what a joy to behold the beauty of the Fathers stars and think of the descendants of Abraham.
This first day of Rosh Chodesh, for our New Moon Feast, I am preparing a delicious beef brisket, saffron risotto, salad with homemade lemon poppy seed dressing with french bread. For dessert I baked a lemon pound cake and will serve it with lemon glaze, strawberries and fresh whipped cream. It does not escape my thoughts that we are immensely blessed by the Father to be able to eat such things and that we should absolutely give thanks for His blessings. How good He is cannot be put into words….. at least not from me. But David had the words…..
“Blessed is that man who has made יהוה his trust, And has not turned to the proud, And those turning aside to falsehood.
O, יהוה my Elohim, many are the wonders Which You have done, and Your purposes toward us; There is no one to compare with You; I declare and speak: They are too many to be numbered.”
My daughter sent me an article yesterday, “Scientists Just Captured The Flash of Light That Sparks When a Sperm Meets an Egg”. This I had known about but to think that they now have it on camera was amazing! Again Yah confirming that life begins with light! Just like when He spoke, “Let there be light”. It never ceases to amaze me how everything in His creation witnesses one to another. Again, I think back to our video “Six Witnesses to the Order of Time” now we can add one more….. time for a revision? Seven Witnesses to the Order of Time. Again, I think of the 1st day of creation….. the nothingness, void and confusion, the darkness, like the darkness of the womb, then the Spirit of Elohim blowing over the face of the deep and the Word being spoken and created, “Let there be Light” and the beginning of Life, the beginning of His creation. How amazing that He did it on such a large scale and on such small scale as well. The darkness of the womb, nothingness and confusion, then Let there be Light, the fusion of sperm and egg, the beginning of life and a new spirit of a new being.
