Last night just before dinner we sighted in the new moon. I took a picture with my camera phone which did not come out very well. Pictures don’t capture the magnificence of Yah’s creation quite like the human eye does. We blew the shofar on the patio my husband, myself , our daughters and our grandson. It’s not as easy as one might think. But we all get great enjoyment out of it and it is always a time of excitement, applause and laughter. It brings to mind Numbers 10:8-10
“And the sons of Aharon, the priests, blow with the trumpets. And it shall be to you for a law forever throughout your generations.
“And when you go into battle in your land against the enemy that distresses you, then you shall shout with the trumpets, and you shall be remembered before יהוה your Elohim, and you shall be saved from your enemies.
“And in the day of your gladness, and in your appointed times, and at the beginning of your months, you shall blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings and over your peace offerings. And they shall be a remembrance for you before your Elohim. I am יהוה your Elohim.”
It is wonderful to be able to fulfill this command from our Father and see His witness in the sky. Today we are enjoying Rosh Chodesh aka New Moon Day. Today we remember His creation in its perfection. The first day of the completed creation. That day was the first day of our existence…. the first day of the first month of the first year….. the beginning when all was in harmony and perfect and there was no sin in the world. I try to imagine the perfection of His creation and I look forward to the new heavens and the new earth that is to come and how that creation will be perfect like this one once was. That creation will have no sin in it.
Our Father is perfection and His timing is His alone. It is for us to follow. I think back to that fourth day of creation when Elohim created the sun in his full shining glory and his counterpart the moon. She was created in her perfect darkness both in need of each other and bound together by an oath. He not able to show any variance in light and her lacking any light of her own. Yet together they multiply time just like Adam & Eve multiply people but, neither can do so without the other. In conjunction with each other till on the sixth day she shows her first light given to her by the sun, just in time for the creation of Adam. Adam is there to witness the first sliver of light on the moon and the following day, the seventh day of creation all those in the heavens and in the earth sing together the praises of the Most High! This day is the seventh day of creation, when no work was done because all was completed. This day is the 1st day of the completed creation. This day was also the eighth day since the Father came out of His rest to create and went back into His rest. This day was then blessed by our Father as a memorial forever to be remembered from New Moon to New Moon and Shabbat to Shabbat. We thank the Father for a new month….. Happy Rosh Chodesh.

We used YouTube shofar blast and sang praises to Yah inside our room, but will use anything we have to make some noise when the time comes.
