Shalom Brothers and Sisters in the NAME OF OUR ALMIGHTY CREATOR YAHUAH through OUR KING AND MESSIYAH YAHUSHA. I had a question that i cannot get around. I believe in the morning to morning schedule of the day based on many legit and factual points that brothers and sisters in this forum have pointed out, BUT, why then a person has to wait until the evening (going down of the sun) to wash and be clean again? Much love ❤️
Because the day ends at sunset.
Where does it say that to wash in evening? (I want to know) And we keep shabbat only during daylight John 11:9
Here's the 31 places it says to wash and be unclean until evening: https://www.blueletterbible.org/search/search.cfm?Criteria=unclean+evening&t=NKJV#s=s_primary_0_1
Although not all of them have the washing part, they have the unclean until evening part.
The Greek word hēmera in John 11:9 means the same as English word day. It is very generic and refers to a full light and dark cycle, but by context can also refer to just part, just like in English. So He was simply saying that throughout the course of a day 12 hour markers are made. They might all be daytime hour markers, but it does not imply the day excludes the night time. This is why many translations render it "are there not 12 hours of daylight in a day?" It is more accurate to the thought he was conveying. He was not trying to define how long a day was. He was just talking the urgency of working before it is too late. All He is really saying is "There's not enough time in a day to get your work done", something we can all relate to (if we work).
