Mishlei(Proverbs) 31:4-6(and maybe 7, maybe also Rev 1:6 for some food for thought) It is not for kings, O Lemu’el, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink: Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted. Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.
Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.
Mattithyahu(Matthew) 27:34 They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink.... Matthew 27:48 And straightway one of them ran, and took a sponge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink.
Yahuchanon(John) 19:28-30 After this, YAHUSHA knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, "I thirst." Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a sponge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth. When YAHUSHA therefore had received the vinegar, he said, "It is finished:" and he bowed his head, and gave up his ruach (spirit).
not sure where you are going with this. to me, the proverbs are man's wisdom. this one is from king Lemuel. it never says "thus says Yah.". interesting point for this discussion is Luke 7:34
7:34 Definitely is man! thanks for the share. I got to thinking a little, then relaxing to not overthink it and believe The RUACH may have just shown me something...
Proverbs 31:6 Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.
Isaiah 53:3(and 4-6 to remind that this is clearly prophetic scripture about Messiah)He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he has borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of ELOHIYM, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and YAHUAH has laid on him אתthe iniquity of us all.
And now the first part since this I think this could be considered a bit more speculative.
Proverbs 31:6 Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.
Matthew 27:34 They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink...
I believe here He was not "ready to perish" yet because "it" was not finished yet.
And then in 27:48 we see He is ready, and "it" "is finished" (John 19:30).
