I learned about the Chinese authorities identifying and gathering up Christians for imprisonment with the assistance of Zoom, which app was being used for their online gatherings. The incident I learned about happened on April 18, 2020.
I only joined this website today, and did not know that you all use Zoom for some things. But now that I know -- and even if I didn't know -- I just wanted to share why I am boycotting Zoom. The church that was targeted was having an Easter service -- and while I am no defender of "Easter services," I also am very aware that many followers of Jesus Christ have not yet learned the histories of the pagan celebrations renamed by the Catholic "Church" as Christian holidays. It's just the principle of the thing. Do you think I am being over-reactive?
Oh, and HOWDY from Austin, Texas. I am looking forward to getting to know you all (or some of you, anyhow) through this forum. Thanks to Justin and Adam for putting it together.
Yeah. Never make zoom gettogethers anymore
We should all stick to secure platforms for all communication. Oh and when typing, use a secure keyboard too. Don't use Google or Apple keyboard. Install a new one.
Google makes computer keyboards? Oy. The one I have was made in China. Oh well, we are inappropriately spied on, no matter what -- even those who own no cell phone or anything "smart." (But that does not keep me from boycotting cell phones and "smart" things, LOL.)
@Michele Michael I meant the virtual keyboard on smart phones. Tho it is also possible to get safer physical keyboards.
@Philip Keiter Ah! Thanks for the explanation. :)
@Philip Keiter - Can you please recommend a keyboard app, or tell me what to look for? I have an Android-based phone.
AnySoft Keyboard
Not me! I do not have a mobile phone and am illiterate on such things.
For physical keyboard I recommend Kinesis
