Can we go to birthdays or bbq gatherings on the Shabbat? Just wanted to ask and to hear the opinions of you brothers and sisters regarding that matter. Shalom
As long as you are keeping the Sabbath, which means giving HIM time and resting/enjoying His rest, then I do not see why not. Being with family is a good thing, unless your family is into some really bad stuff you would have to be exposed to and involved in.
That is the conclusion I’ve come too also. I still won’t participate if I have to buy anything or if the event involves things that would cause me to disobey Yahuah. One of my friends won’t schedule her daughters party on Saturday so that she can be sure I’ll come and be able to participate. Personally though, I have reduced the importance of birthdays in my own life. I feel like they can be a stubbling block if taken too far, encouraging selfishness and excessive self love. But I don’t feel like it breaks any commandments to be thankful to Yahuah for your friends and family members. Something small done together I think is more appropriate, to show love and gratefulness without going overboard.
I would like to thank you for the efforts you have made in writing this article. I am hoping the same best work from you in the future as well. In fact your creative writing abilities has inspired me to start my own Blog Engine blog now. Really the blogging is spreading its wings rapidly. Your write up is a fine example of it. Hi there. I’ve noticed that your comments do not address the topic they are posted in, and are advertising various things. This group is not the place for that. Please stop advertising 😁 thank you.

Though there are some that feel we shouldn’t be doing them at all. Pray about it, and let Yahuah guide you about it.
