Men have no power over the Tongue Verse 1 My brothers and sisters not many of you should become teachers because you should remember that your punishment will be greater if you lead the sheep astray. Verse 2 Absolutely every single one of us has broken the Everlasting Covenant. If anyone can speak and not fall into lawlessness, he has put on the Perfect Man and uses His power to restrain all the body. Verse 3 When we put the Son of Light’s bit into the horse’s mouth so that we can have the Son of Light’s obedience and control then we will be able to turn the entire animal around. Verse 4 Behold, even sail ships no matter their size or age they are driven by intense winds, but they can be turned and guided by a small rudder that is under the control of the one that steers it and is taken wherever the owner desires to go. Verse 5 Also too is the tongue a small organ and it boasts the same power as a ship’s rudder. In the same way a small fire that is not watched after carefully and left alone to do whatever it wants it can then kindle a great forest ablaze. Verse 6 Also, the tongue has been like an unwatched fire and it has put the entire world into the lawlessness of the son of darkness. The tongue is put in charge of all our flesh and the son of darkness uses it to defile our entire body. And the son of darkness ignites our nature so that the course of our life is a circle where we are stuck and going nowhere, and our passions put us under the authority of hell and the father of darkness. Verse 7 For the world used to have wild animals all over but humanity has subdued every single one from the beasts of the field, to the birds, the creeping animals, and even all the sea creatures. Verse 8 But the children of men cannot subdue the tongue for it is the most volatile evil organ and its full of deadly poison. This is why we need the nature of the Perfect Man, for only His nature can subdue what men have absolutely no power to subdue. Verse 9 As the children of darkness, we bless our Master and the Father, and we also use it to curse the children of men who were created in the image of the Father of the Children of Light. Verse 10 My brothers and sisters this should not be the way we act that from out of the same mouth comes blessings and curses. Verse 11 Where in creation have you ever seen a spring that pours out the Son of Light’s fresh Life-giving water and the son of darkness’s bitter water? Verse 12 My brothers and sisters can a fig tree produce olives? Or can a vine produce figs? Nor does a saltwater spring bring forth fresh water? Verse 13 Whoever is wise and intelligent among you, let him demonstrate to you what proper behavior looks like with gentle wisdom. Verse 14 But if your heart is full of bitter jealousy and self-interest don’t boast that you are superior to others and lie to yourself you will make it worse and end up speaking against the Truth. Verse 15 Those that act like this are not using the wisdom that comes from above but are instead being earthly, carnal, and are acting like a demon. Verse 16 For where there are men that have hearts full of bitter jealousy and self-interest you will find all kinds of disorder and every worthless and wicked evil you can imagine. Verse 17 But the Son of Light’s wisdom is from above and its first truly pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy, impartial, sincere, and uses the Perfect Man. Verse 18 The byproduct of being a citizen of Heaven which is peace is only sown by those that produce peace.
